Luncheon. The luncheon is sponsored by St Josephs Healthcare Foundation.

New
Cancer Center Is Open in Santa Fe
The Cancer Institute of New Mexico (CINM) has opened its doors in Santa
Fe. The Cancer Institute of New Mexico (CINM) open since mid-September
2003 is the state's newest cancer care facility. The Cancer Institute
of New Mexico is the result of two groups of physicians - New Mexico
Cancer Care Associates and Radiation Oncology Associates - joining forces
to offer patients the best in cancer screening, cancer treatment and
compassionate care.

Wendy Hine, social work case manager for the Breast and Cervical Cancer
Early Detection and Medicaid program at UNM, was named recipient of
the 2003 Anita Salas Memorial Award for her leadership. She was recognized
at the Lovelace Sandia Health Systems 6th Annual Whats New
in Breast Cancer Symposium and Health Fair.

National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health New
Treatment Significantly Improves Long-term Outlook For Breast Cancer
Survivors: International clinical trial concludes women should consider
taking letrozole after five years of tamoxifen treatment to continue
to reduce risk of recurrence
Immediately after the NCI announcement, the National Breast Cancer
Coalition released these cautionary
remarks about ending the letrozole clinical trials. NBCC is a highly
respected advocacy organization. Their Board includes Frances
Visco and Susan Love MD who are luminaries in the breast cancer
world.
