Spring Nancy Floyd Haworth Memorial Breast Cancer Lectureship Series and Luncheon The Nancy Floyd Haworth celebration has been expanded to focus on topics of especial interest to the medical community and includes workshops and a dinner. Last year's dinner was held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Albuquerque. The speaker was Vicente Valero, MD, whose topic was “New Therapies in Breast Cancer: A 20 Year Perspective from Today”. Dr. Valero is a Professor of Medicine with the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The Nancy Floyd Haworth Committee of St Joseph's Health Care Foundation sponsors The Nancy Floyd Haworth Memorial Lectureship and Luncheon. It is an annual event each spring with free lectures and information sessions followed by a luncheon and a keynote speaker who is a breast cancer survivor. This year, the events are sponsored jointly by the Committee and New Mexico Cancer Research and Treatment Center. Recent speakers have included Betty Rollin, Diahann Carroll, and Dr. Jerri Nielson. Last year's luncheon was at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Albuquerque. The speaker was breast cancer survivor Cokie Roberts, author and award-winning journalist. The morning workshops and displays are free and open to the public.
